The agent and father of Rodrigo Moreno is set to meet with Leeds United to discuss his future at the club.
Adalberto Machado, who will be in charge of sorting Rodrigo’s future this summer, was speaking to ABC Sevilla after being approached by the Spanish outlet to comment on reports linking him with Sevilla.
According to El Partizado del COPE, Rodrigo is on the verge of making the switch to the Europa League champions for a fee in the region of £3.5 million after Leeds’ relegation.
Rodrigo would be following former Leeds chief Victor Orta to Sevilla, who was appointed as the club’s new sporting director earlier this week.
Orta is set to replace Monchi in the role at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, who ended his long association with the club by moving to Aston Villa to link up with Unai Emery.
Rodrigo’s agent addresses Leeds future
With just 12 months left to run on his deal and after netting 13 Premier League goals last term, Rodrigo is almost certain to move on this summer.
And agent Machado has appeared to back up those claims, confirming he is set for a meeting with the club soon to sort his future.
“We have nothing firm. I have known these days of interest, but not concrete. I have an appointment now with the people of the club [Leeds]. We are going to fix all those issues and we will know soon.
“There is nothing fixed. But Sevilla, always. Sevilla will always be a team that will have our interest, obviously.”
Rodrigo was one of Leeds‘ best players last season and after returning to the Spain squad this month, no one would begrudge him of a move.
Even if it was in vain, the 32-year-old netted some crucial goals at times, including in a 3-0 win over Chelsea in August, which saw Micah Richards label him as ‘brilliant’.
Now Rodrigo’s international break is over, it feels as though this could be a transfer that gets sorted pretty quickly.
