Report: 26-year-old could now seal Leeds exit this weekend

Leeds United defender Robin Koch could have his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt wrapped up this weekend.

That is according to Bild, who report negotiations could come to an end this weekend providing he chooses Frankfurt as his preferred destination.

Bayer Leverkusen are said to still remain in the mix for Koch’s signature, with a return to the Bundesliga having been reported as his preference this summer, ahead of a move back to the Premier League.

Frankfurt do have an edge on Leverkusen in the race with Koch already having agreed personal terms and at the top of the list of players they want to sign this summer.

The 26-year-old believes a move back to the Bundesliga will give him the best chance of returning to the international fold with Germany, as well as providing him the platform to become a leader.

Frankfurt could agree Koch deal this weekend

Leeds are back for pre-season testing at the beginning of next week and Koch is among the first group of players scheduled to return.

As such, Koch may now be seeking a swift resolution to his future to ensure he does not have to comeback to Thorp Arch, and instead start the summer at his new club.

However, what could throw a spanner in the works is the news that Serie A champions Napoli have identified him as a potential target to replace Kim Min-Jae.

Kim is set to join Bayern Munich for a fee in the region of £45 million and so Napoli are in need of a replacement, which they see Koch being.

With that in mind, Koch certainly has a huge decision to make on his future but if he does not want to begin pre-season at Leeds, it is one he needs to make swiftly.
