Regis Le Bris has told French outlet Le Telegramme that he could leave Lorient this summer amid reports Leeds are interested in his services – after guiding his Lorient side to tenth in the Ligue 1 table, with a final-day win on Sunday.
Having worked in a number of different roles at Lorient over the past decade, the 47-year-old was appointed boss for this season last June. He has impressed in his first season, guiding Lorient far away from the relegation zone.
Indeed, a wonderful season in which Lorient obtained mid-table obscurity. It comes after 16th place the season prior and even after losing Terem Moffi, he saw his Lorient side secure 10th place with a 2-1 win over Strasbourg.
The Sun initially reported that Le Bris is a target for Leeds. He is one of a number of managers being linked with a move to Elland Road – alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard, Scott Parker, Brenden Rodgers and plenty of others.
Speaking ahead of his side’s final game of the season, Le Bris spoke to the media, opening the door to a potential exit this summer. He said that there are discussions going on at the moment and he will make a decision this week.

“There are discussions at the moment. I want to take advantage of the moment, everything we have been through. Close the season in the best way. Then we’ll think about the future in the next few days. We’ll see what happens.”
Regis Le Bris could leave Lorient this summer amid Leeds reports
It is a clear indication that Le Bris has seen the reports that Leeds are interested and it is clearly on his mind. A boss that has played exciting football without going overboard. Young, energetic boss. Fresh in the management world.
Leeds will do well to convince Le Bris to go from mid-table in Ligue 1, to the Championship. But the potential project at Leeds will be tempting, especially given the squad we have going into the second tier. Le Bris may be tempted.
