Phil Hay believes Joe Rodon has made a fantastic start to life at Leeds United.
Hay was speaking on the latest episode of the Square Ball Podcast where he reviewed the 3-0 win over Millwall on Sunday, with Rodon among several to have received praise.
Rodon made the summer switch to Leeds last month on a season-long-loan from Tottenham Hotspur with centre-back having been a key area to address for Daniel Farke.

The 25-year-old produced arguably his best performance in a white shirt since his arrival at the Den, winning everything in the air and looking comfortable with the ball at his feet.
His partnership with Pascal Struijk has helped Leeds keep back-to-back clean sheets in the league for the first time since April 2022.

Hay praises Rodon’s start at Leeds
Across both club and international matches, Rodon has now been involved in four successive clean sheets and Hay believes that he is looking like another really smart signing for Leeds.
He said: “Rodon I think has had a really good start at Leeds. I think again it looks like a very strong, steady signing at centre-back and it cannot be a bad thing that you’re suddenly two clean sheets on the bounce given Leeds have seemed to abandon the concept of clean sheets completely for the last two-three years.”

Given how well the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Joel Piroe have done so far, the signing of Rodon has somewhat gone under the radar.
However, he has been a big contributing factor to Leeds’ improvement at the back in recent weeks and his display at Millwall was colossal.
Rodon and Struijk have all the makings of a really strong pairing and the more they are able to play together, the stronger it is likely to get.
