Daniel Farke gave an update on Leeds United star Jamie Shackleton after Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Plymouth Argyle to book a tie with either Aston Villa or Chelsea in the fifth round of The FA Cup.
Leeds needed extra time on Tuesday night to finally get over the line against Plymouth, with Willy Gnonto, Cree Summerville, Georgie Rutter and an own goal enough to finally get Leeds over the line.
Leeds were missing Connor Roberts – who was ineligible – as well four players out through injury or illness. Shackleton missed the trip, along with Pascal Struijk, Stuart Dallas and in-form star Dan James.
It comes after 24-year-old Shackleton was included in the squad that beat Bristol City last Friday, but he was then unavailable to travel on Tuesday. Farke gave an update on the versatile Leeds midfielder.
The Leeds manager told Leeds Live that Shackleton will be back in the Leeds squad to face Rotherham United on the weekend: “Jamie still not well. Not well enough to travel. Ready for Saturday hopefully.”

Daniel Farke delivers update on Leeds man Jamie Shackleton
Shackleton has been a crucial part of this promotion-chasing side, even if he has only clocked up 13 appearances. Able to play in many roles, Farke made it clear recently he is a valued member of the side.
Even suggesting that he will be given a new contract at Elland Road. In terms of attitude and loyalty to Leeds, he deserves it – even if his agent said he’d probably go last summer. Likely to return on Saturday.
