Raphinha has sent a message to Leeds United captain Liam Cooper after he addressed the club’s relegation on Instagram.

The Brazilian winger was responding to Cooper’s post on social media yesterday evening, where he spoke of his devastation at the situation, before reaffirming his commitment to the club.

Cooper is a boyhood Leeds fan and it is fair to say that very much came across, which can sometimes be difficult given the amount of footballers’ social media profiles are run by PR companies these days.

Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez are among some of the other former Leeds teammates to respond to Cooper, with those all three all having played a key role in promotion three years ago.

Raphinha sends Cooper message

Prior to his big money move to Barcelona last summer, Raphinha was Leeds’ saviour 12 months ago as he netted a penalty on the way to a crucial final day win at Brentford.

Having won his first La Liga title in his debut campaign at the Camp Nou, he may have been forgiven for having Leeds at the back of his mind, though he has still taken the time out to send Cooper a quick message.

He wrote: ‘Keep going brother, head up always’.

Clearly Leeds have had a big impact on the career of Raphinha and it is nice to see he is not forgetting that, with Cooper having been his captain for a couple of years.

Leeds could’ve certainly done with him in their side dragging them over the line again after failing to really replace his quality last summer.

For people of this generation, they won’t have seen many better in the white shirt.
