Pablo Hernandez was amongst the players to send a message to Liam Cooper on Instagram after the captain seemingly confirmed that he has every intention of staying at Leeds United following relegation.
Leeds, of course, are continuing their inquest into what proved to be a miserable campaign. And many of the players have now spoken out to express their disappointment and regret.
Liam Cooper joined that group overnight, with the skipper posting a heartfelt statement on Instagram. And you cannot deny that it was a brilliant post.

Obviously, the defender spoke about how devastated he was for Leeds to end up in this position. And he alluded to the difficult times which lie ahead.
But he also went on to confirm that he is not planning to go anywhere.
And that received praise from several teammates past and present, including Pablo Hernandez and Mateusz Klich…
His critics will suggest that Cooper is not a player we are likely to be fielding a raft of offers for this summer anyway. He was one of those who probably never expected to have a Premier League career before Marcelo Bielsa came along. And he will turn 32 in August.
However, there were plenty of times where Cooper was, by far, our best centre-back in the top-flight. And he has been the captain for a long time.
It is going to be a summer of upheaval at Elland Road. So some continuity is needed. And Cooper confirming that he is planning to stay is certainly some positive news.
Leeds’ hopes of making an immediate return to the Premier League are certainly going to be boosted by having Cooper leading the ranks.
