Raphinha comes back to haunt Victor Orta after what former Leeds United player did for Barcelona vs Sevilla

Leeds United will be thrilled at the fact they had Raphinha on their books as the Barcelona winger is arguably the best player in the world at the moment.

There is no doubt at all that Leeds fans will miss Raphinha, but by leaving Elland Road the Brazilian has reached new heights.

The 28-year-old has been on fire this season, as after Raphinha reached 30 goals and assists in January, the Barcelona star has now increased that tally to 39.

It’s no surprise to Leeds fans who would’ve seen this promise in his two seasons with the Yorkshire side before departing in 2022.

Former Leeds Director of Football, Victor Orta, was the man who sold him, and now Raphinha has come back to haunt him.

Crysencio Summerville said Raphinha was ‘absurd’ at Leeds and the Brazilian has certainly exceeded the West Ham star’s comments.

He did it once again this weekend as Raphinha scored in Barcelona’s 4-1 victory against Sevilla, after 55 minutes, the winger showed his brilliance.

Raphinha stepped past the onrushing Sevilla defender with ease, before slotting a powerful strike into the bottom right corner for Barca’s third.

Orta sold Raphinha for £55m from Leeds, and now as Sevilla’s sporting director, it’s come back to bite the Spaniard.

Leeds are still paying off Raphinha deal with no thanks to Orta

£55m for the Brazilian was good business back then, but Leeds could’ve warranted possibly double that if he had this form at Elland Road.

Not only this, but the Whites have actually lost out so far in the deal, which is ultimately Orta’s fault.

Leeds are still owed £35.7m from Raphinha’s move as Orta’s negotiating has still got the Whites waiting for over half of the actual fee to be repaid.

It was in a worse state back in April, as Leeds were still owed £190m in unpaid transfer fees, which is another of Orta’s flaws.

After these wrongdoings, Leeds fans will have been happy to see Raphinha strike against Orta’s club, as karma comes out on top.
