Leeds United fans seem split on manager Daniel Farke, and one blockbuster name that the club could now hire is Jose Mourinho.
There are still a lot of Leeds United fans who don’t think Daniel Farke is the man for the job. At the end of last season, Leeds United were considering Farke’s future at the club, despite promotion, though he remained and he’s since spent £100million building a new team.
But a disastrous deadline day has left Leeds without a strong-looking attack and inevitably, it would be Farke who pays the price if Leeds’ form tails off in the next few weeks and months.
Jose Mourinho was mentioned alongside the Elland Road job earlier in the summer. Recently, Mourinho left Fenerbahce and there’s speculation that he’s on his way back to England.

Alex Crook thinks Leeds United or West Ham could hire Jose Mourinho
The ‘special one’ is certainly an icon of the Premier League. His success over the years can’t be argued and should Leeds and Farke part ways at some point in the near future then Mourinho certainly wouldn’t be a bad bet. But there’ll no doubt be other teams who sack their managers at some point this season, and Mourinho would also come into the reckoning for those jobs.
Speaking on talkSPORT, journalist Alex Crook picked out two potential next clubs for the Portuguese manager in West Ham and Leeds United. After commenting on the Hammers and their situation, Crook added: “The other one that springs to mind is Leeds and obviously there’s reservations about whether Daniel Farke can cut it in the Premier League.”

Jose Mourinho’s Premier League record is incredible
In stints with Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs, Mourinho has racked up a pretty incredible record in the Premier League, which has him in fifth for points-per-game in the all-time list of Premier League managers (over 50 games), and joint-second in the list of Premier League title wins.
He’s also enjoyed great success managing outside of England with the likes of Porto, Inter, Real Madrid and more, and so he’s definitely an attractive candidate for any job in the Premier League, not just Leeds United.
| Statistic | Mourinho’s PL record |
| Games | 305 |
| Wins | 190 |
| Draws | 70 |
| Losses | 45 |
| Point-per-game | 2.1 |
| Titles | 3 |
But of course, whether Mourinho would be enticed by the Leeds job remains to be seen. If Leeds did sack Farke then they’d likely be struggling down in the relegation zone, which is not usually where Mourinho operates.
