Bristol City manager Liam Manning has shared his verdict on Leeds United after the Whites’ 1-0 win last night.
Willy Gnonto’s goal was the only difference between the two sides on the night, but in truth Leeds could’ve won by at least three or four goals had they been more clinical.
Crysencio Summerville was guilty of missing a few clear-cut chances, while Georginio Rutter and Glen Kamara should both also have been on the scoresheet. Leeds were also denied a clear penalty in the first half.
Leeds were then forced to hold firm in the closing stages of the match as Bristol City threw more men forward, but some pivotal interventions by Joe Rodon meant the three points returned to Elland Road.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Manning believes Leeds are the best team his side have faced since his appointment as manager back in November.

“Firstly you have to give credit to Leeds for their level and performance. They are probably the best side we have played so far. What you then want to do is find out the levels you are capable of and having seen us recently, we have performed at a much higher level.”
In the months that have proceeded his appointment, Bristol City have faced the likes of Southampton and West Ham, so that is quite the compliment for Daniel Farke’s side.
But in truth, there was a clear gulf in class between the two teams as Leeds were persistently able to win the ball back high up the pitch as the home side looked to play out.
This is not the first time Leeds have been praised heavily by opposition managers, with Enzo Maresca and Kieran McKenna of Leicester City and Ipswich hailing the Whites as the best counter-attacking team in the division.
The only thing missing tonight for Leeds was that ruthlessness in front of goal and hopefully that can be rectified in the coming weeks.
