Premier League manager responds when asked for update on move to sign Leeds United player

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has been quoted by The Daily Echo as saying that Leeds United star Tyler Adams is a player he rates highly – but remained coy on a likely move for the American ace.

According to Phil Hay of the Athletic, Leeds are set to rake in a fee of £23m plus add-ons for the USA captain – with both clubs still locked in negotiations. A medical is due to take place in the next 24 hours.

Adams, who has been linked with the majority of Premier League clubs – from Forest to Liverpool, Spurs to Villa, Brighton to a failed medical at Chelsea – is now set for The Vitality. We finally rake in some cash.

Asked about a move for Adams to Bournemouth, Cherries manager Iraola – who of course, was strongly linked with Leeds after the sacking of Jesse Marsch – gave a response. He is clearly a fan of our player.

“He is a player that right now is not our player. We have to wait, I think that you know that the club is working towards signing someone there in the midfield, but we have to wait until everything is complete.

“He’s a really good player. He has performed in the Champions League, national team experience. But I don’t want to go too far because right now it’s not our player,” Iraola said when asked about Adams.

It is quite clear that Adams is off and is set to join Iraola’s side. A team that have already been battling with Leeds for Karl Darlow – which we won – and then defender Max Aarons, which Bournemouth won.

Now, it looks likely that Bournemouth are going to have the next laugh – by raiding Leeds for Adams. A wonderful signing for the Cherries, given that Chelsea felt Adams is good enough to play for the Blues.
