Predicted Leeds United side to face West Brom as Daniel Farke brings £7.5m man back into his XI

Leeds United take on West Brom on Saturday in the first of four games before the international break in March, with Leeds facing a third side from the top six in a row.

Leeds come into the game after massive wins over Sheffield United and Sunderland in the past fortnight. Comeback wins that have placed Daniel Farke’s side at the top of the table, five clear of Sheffield United.

They can stretch that to eight points on Saturday lunchtime before Sheffield United play, with the Blades away a QPR at 3pm. Burnley meanwhile, are in action in the FA Cup and play midweek a few days later.

So Saturday presents a chance for Leeds to apply even more pressure on Chris Wilder’s side if they can manager to get the better of Tony Mowbray’s men, who remain a solid contender to go into the play-offs.

Leeds United team news ahead of West Brom clash, three injured

Farke has been speaking ahead of the game on Thursday and to the delight of Leeds fans, there are no more injury issues. However, Ethan Ampadu is set to miss the majority of the remaining matches.

Leeds have decided not to put Ampadu under the knife in order to give him a chance of playing in the remaining matches. But that is a touch hopeful, with Ampadu set to undergo ‘conservative treatment’.

Ampadu remains sidelined for Saturday and certainly until the March break. Max Wober is also on the sidelines for that period while Farke says Patrick Bamford does not have a timeline in his recovery.

Predicted Leeds side to take on West Brom, two changes

With Leeds back at Elland Road and the form of Joe Rothwell in the last two games from the bench, it is likely that the on-loan Bournemouth man comes back in. The £7.5m man would come in for Ilia Gruev.

Indeed, Gruev struggled last time out and with Leeds expected to boast most of the possession, having Rothwell in from the start makes sense. Manor Solomon meanwhile, has suffered a knock or two lately.

Wilfried Gnonto came on at Bramall Lane and sparkled, almost curling one into the top corner from the best part of 25 yards. Farke may give Solomon a rest from the start and hand Gnonto the first 60 minutes.
