Chelsea are now in advanced talks over the signing of Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.
That is according to journalist Rudy Galetti, who reports Chelsea are keen to get the deal wrapped up in the next couple of days by triggering the £20 million release clause.
He also claims personal terms are on the verge of being agreed as Chelsea look to get the deal done as swiftly as possible before their game with Liverpool on Sunday.
Adams has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs this summer but only this week has anyone decided to step up their interest in the 24-year-old.
Aston Villa, Liverpool and Spurs are among the other interested sides, however it appears as though Chelsea could be about to win the race.

Chelsea are also currently in active pursuits of Southampton’s Romeo Lavia and Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.
A first offer of around £48 million from Chelsea for Lavia was turned down by the Saints last night, while it was also reported a deal is moving closer for Caicedo.
Were Chelsea to agree a deal for all three players, it remains uncertain as to whether they would sign all of them, meaning although a move is close for Adams, there would be an element of doubt to them green lighting the move.
Adams remains out injured at this stage though is entering the final couple of weeks of his recovery before he returns fully from a hamstring injury.
The next three weeks are certainly going to be interesting to see who stays and who goes at Leeds.
