San Francisco 49ers Enterprises are expected to receive EFL ratification on their takeover of Leeds United in the next seven days.

That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports there is now a ‘serious chance’ the EFL will approve 49ers Enterprises’ full buyout in the next week.

This would see 49ers’ ownership switch immediately to 100% control from Andrea Radrizzani’s company Aser Ventures and officially signal the start of the new era.

It is now two weeks since Leeds announced 49ers had reached an agreement with Radrizzani for the purchase of the club, stating further updates would be provided in due course.

All that needed finalising was the minor details and EFL approval, which now looks as though it could arrive next week, which would be a huge step forward for the club this summer.

49ers could get EFL approval next week

This appears to be the all important final step in officially confirming Leeds’ takeover, and for the fanbase, it really can’t come soon enough.

Once this does arrive, it feels like Leeds will really be able to build ahead of steam for what is set to be a huge summer transfer window.

Leeds remain on the hunt to appoint a new manager and with that process expected to be wrapped up by the end of the weekend, an announcement could follow once the takeover is approved.

49ers are also looking to be ambitious in the transfer market and a new manager in place would enable them to give the green light on potential new signings.

It has been a long, arduous wait for news since relegation but next week could be when it all really starts to kick into gear.
