Charlie Cresswell’s future at Leeds United is still completely up in the air as Daniel Farke continues to overlook the centre-back – and Phil Hay has now responded when asked if he will leave Leeds.

The 21-year-old has not been involved in any of our last five games in all competitions, with Farke‘s men winning all five. Indeed, Cresswell has not played since a late sub outing during the 1-0 win over QPR.

Involved in just three of our last 20 games, and remaining as an unused sub in all three. Clearly, he is not a part of Farke’s plans – and that is despite injuries to Pascal Struijk and Liam Cooper in recent weeks.

Indeed, Ethan Ampadu has deputised at centre-back and Cresswell is still not winning a place on the bench. Farke recently pointed towards Cresswell’s attitude, saying he won’t play until that changes.

There is interest in Cresswell – Graeme Bailey told LeedsUnited.News. Leeds have rejected two ‘big offers’ for Cresswell from Millwall. Hay has now responded when asked if the £5m-rated man will go.

“We will ask about this on Friday, in terms of the Cup game and the deadline. How is this going to fall? When it comes to Farke, what does he see happening if Cresswell is still there after the deadline?

“You would think Cresswell would have in his head if he isn’t going, that he needs to get back in because what’s the point? There is going to have to be some diplomacy you’d think,” Hay told The Square Ball.

It looks more and more likely that Cresswell needs to go. Farke would surely prefer to have him around with Struijk’s injury, and Cooper’s inability to stay fit – and the fact that Cooper is set to leave on a free.

But, a Cresswell that is fully motivated and hell-bent on getting back in the side. That does not seem to be the case judging by what Farke has been saying. A move, and a replacement, seems more likely.
