Illan Meslier’s excellent return to form at Leeds United has not gone unnoticed this season. Inter Milan were linked with the Frenchman, and now Bayern Munich are monitoring his performances.

Meslier, 23, has had an up and down spell at Leeds. Breaking into the team as a replacement for Kiko Casilla, the Frenchman helped us gain promotion and starred in our first season back in the top tier.

But, the next two seasons did not go plan. His form and confidence dipped and culminated in Leeds being relegated. He was reduced to the bench for the final four games of last season under Big Sam.

Meslier chose to remain and his form has been excellent this season – saving Leeds on a couple of occasions. He looks like the old Meslier. He’s conceded just 20 goals in 19 games, six clean sheets.

He has been described as “outstanding” by Daniel Farke. Italian reporter Marco Barzaghi recently said Inter wanted to land the stopper. Now, Sport.fr claim Harry Kane’s Bayern are monitoring Meslier.

Bayern Munich now monitoring Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier

Meslier is now 23 but with 175 games under his belt already as a goalkeeper, it is quite incredible. He has broken records in the Premier League, the youngest keeper with 100 Premier League appearances.

So, it is hardly a surprise that Meslier is attracting interest. Is he good enough for Bayern? He could be down the line but you would imagine, he would need a club in between – a springboard before Bayern.

Leeds could be that club, if we return to the Premier League and establish ourselves as a mid-table club down the line. But that’s a big if from where we are right now. He still has a contract until June 2026.
