Daniel Farke has told his post-match press conference – as per Leeds Live – he is “carefully optimistic” that star Joe Rodon will be fit for Leeds United’s huge clash against Leicester City next Friday evening.
Rodon, 25, started once again on Saturday lunchtime in the middle of the defence with Pascal Struijk, with whom he has formed a superb relationship in the middle of the back line. But, he did last the game.
The on-loan Tottenham star called to the bench just after the hour mark, picking up a hamstring injury. Liam Cooper replaced him – with a clean sheet intact. Leeds held on to secure a comfortable 4-1 win.

Leicester is next, next Friday evening. Leicester have only dropped three points all season, winning 39 of a possible 42. Leeds need their best side available and Rodon is that. Farke gave an update on him.
“Felt a little hamstring, but did not want to risk anything and gave the sign. Beneficial to calm the load over the next two days until we play on Friday. Think and hope he will be fine. Carefully optimistic.”

It will be a nail-biting wait until Wednesday or Thursday, whenever Farke holds his next press conference to hear whether Rodon will be available for selection. Leeds need him to start, he crucial to the defence.
The heartbeat, of the backline. Leeds play well, when Rodon plays well. If we have any chance of coming away from the King Power with a result against high-flying Leicester, then we need Rodon to start for us.
