Leeds United are pushing themselves towards Premier League safety at the moment, and the key players are stepping up for Daniel Farke, having gone four games unbeaten.
Four and a half, to be exact. While the Man City game ended in defeat, the second half proved to be a turning point as Leeds came within an inch of a draw, only to be beaten thanks to Phil Foden’s brilliance.
Since then, Leeds have won against Chelsea and Crystal Palace and drawn with Liverpool and Brentford. The run of eight points in four games has seen Leeds creep out of the relegation zone and into 16th.
Ethan Ampadu was majestic vs Palace. Does he deserve more recognition at Leeds? Let us know in the comments
Much more comfortable, with a six-point buffer now separating West Ham and Leeds. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the most in-form striker in the Premier League over the last five games, scoring a huge six goals.
Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol, Gabi Gudmundsson, Anton Stach and so many more are in good form. Even Brenden Aaronson got a standing ovation on Saturday, but Nigel Martyn has praised another.

Nigel Martyn loves what Ethan Ampadu is doing off the ball
When you hear the phrase running stats, Leeds fans immediately think of Aaronson. Such is the defence of the American’s inclusion in the starting XI from Farke and others in support of starting the midfielder.
But Nigel Martyn told LUTV that it’s not just Aaronson who boasts big distances covered and impressive running stats. Indeed, Martyn says he would hate to see how much Ampadu runs every time Leeds play.
“He works tremendously hard and has done all season. I’d hate to see what his stats are, it would be tiring just to see how much distance he has covered. But the way he leads by example, he’s not one to shout.”
Who is Leeds United’s best signing during Daniel Farke era?
The best signings made by Farke since he took over in 2023 will have to be the ones that have managed to do it in the Premier League, and bought cheaply. Even if they were initially signed in the Championship.
Leeds planned on Premier League survival from the moment Farke arrived. Signing players good enough for the Premier League, keeping players that would eventually go on to become Premier League players.
This is difficult: Who is Leeds United’s best signing so far? 🤑
Explain why!
Bogle for £5m, Ao Tanaka for £3.5m, Rodon for £10m. All brilliant signings made with Farke in the dugout. Farke has even admitted trying to sign Tanaka a year before Leeds actually bought him from Dusseldorf.
Gudmundsson, Stach and Nmecha have all proved value for money and so has Calvert-Lewin. But for what Ampadu has done at Leeds, Farke’s first Leeds signing in 2023, he surely has to be right up there?
