Yesterday, Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani replied to a fan – saying there would be news over Jesse Marsch’s successor either that evening, or this morning but nothing emerged and he has taken to Twitter again, with an update for fans.
Marsch, 49, was relieved of his duties on Monday after Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest. It seems like a world away now, with Leeds now looking for a new manager after sacking the American. Plenty of names have been linked.
The Times claim that Leeds have whittled down their shortlist to three names. Feyenoord boss Arne Slot – with Luis Sinisterra’s old manager pushing Feyenoord to the summit of the Eredivisie this season. Next, is Rayo’s Andoni Iraola.
He has guided Rayo to promotion, and on a shoe string budget, Rayo sit in fifth place in La Liga. Marcelo Gallardo is the other option, after he left River Plate after eight years, in December. Radrizzani said an update was coming.
The Leeds owner, who still remains the majority shareholder with 56%, said an update would come yesterday evening or this morning. Nothing materialised. After his time scale elapsed, Radrizzani replied to another disgruntled Leeds fan.

It is of course, not the first time Radrizzani has jumped the gun on Twitter and ended in failure. We all remember the saga of Bamba Dieng. But there seems to be more patience from Leeds fans now. They want the right appointment.
If that takes a bit longer than Radrizzani’s initial Tweet, then so be it. This is a pivotal decision that could have major consequences come the end of the season and the future of Leeds as a club. Even Radrizzani’s future and sale of Leeds.
Whether it be Iraola, Gallardo, Slot or another manager yet to be linked with a move to Elland Road, remains to be seen. But clearly, the Leeds board – made up of Radrizzani, Victor Orta, Angus Kinnear and the 49ers – are working.
