Pascal Struijk is a target for Club Brugge with the Belgian window due to slam shut at midnight on Wednesday and while it will be a nervous wait for Leeds – it looks as if the defender will now remain.
Struijk, 24, has emerged as a key player for Leeds this season. With Liam Cooper injured, the Dutch defender has come into the side and performed superbly. Starting all five league games, scoring twice.
Leeds have already waved goodbye to Luis Sinisterra, having expected that they would keep the squad that they entered the English deadline day with. A new deadline is approaching, and Struijk is a target.
A report from Voetbal Krant claims Brugge want him. One of Belgium’s biggest clubs, who will be in the Europa Conference League this season. But, the report says as things stand, they will not make a move.
But even if they did in the final few hours of the window before tomorrow’s midnight deadline, Leeds are well-positioned. While Sinisterra had a loan clause exit – Struijk does not. His deal ends in June 2027.

Struijk is crucial. Daniel Farke needs his team to gel quickly and in order to do so, new relationships are crucial. Struijk has formed one of those new relationships with Joe Rodon in the middle of our defence.
A squad member last season, and going into this campaign he was expected to be back-up to captain Cooper. But actually, he is quickly becoming one of our most-important. Marcelo Bielsa was a big fan.
The Argentine described him as a “complete player” in 2020. Certainly, he has a bit of everything in the middle of the defence. So, a nervous wait over the next 36 hours – but it looks like Leeds will keep him.
