A report from Voetbal Krant claims Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk was on the list at Club Brugge with the Belgian transfer window to end on Wednesday – but Brugge have made a decision on transfers.
Struijk has made a wonderful start to the season. Playing every minute of our Championship campaign, he has scored two goals in the Carabao Cup. With Liam Cooper injured, Struijk remains first choice.
The 24-year-old defender has become a key player – even wearing the armband on occasion. But little surprise, Brugge are keen. The Belgian window does not end until Wednesday. Brugge could sign him.
However, Brugge – who are preparing to start their Europa League Conference group stage campaign – have made a decision. The Belgian giants have decided not to make any signings before the deadline.

Struijk would be a wonderful signing for Brugge – but, he has shown this season that he has the ability to become a Premier League defender. He was hardly given a run in the Premier League at centre-back.
Leeds must keep him. It looks as though we will be able to – given his contract has four years left to run. Brugge have more than 24 hours to revert their decision and they do need more options at centre-back.
But Leeds are in the driving seat and even if their price tag of Struijk is met, you would argue we should turn it down anyway given our inability to sign replacements – with our window shut. Time will tell.
