Neil Warnock does not believe Leeds United will finish in the top two places in the Championship despite Leeds “firing” under Daniel Farke – saying Leicester and Ipswich will stay where they are.

Leeds currently sit in third place in the Championship table but remain eight points behind both Ipswich and Leicester. That is even with Leicester losing their last two games, one of which was to the Whites.

Leeds are in excellent shape and showing promotion form. Three wins in a row, six wins from our last seven. We are winning games ugly, and in fashion. Saturday’s win over Plymouth was proof of that.

Ex-Leeds gaffer Warnock was asked who he feels will gain promotion to the Premier League in the top two places from the Championship. He thinks Ipswich and Leicester will remain in the top two slots.

“I think those two teams might just edge, Leeds. Although Daniel has really got them firing now,” the experienced gaffer told TalkSPORT on Wednesday morning – despite the run of form Leeds are on.

Leeds look excellent at the moment. The defence looks sturdy, even if one drops out – Pascal Struijk missing the win over Plymouth after surgery. The midfield picks itself, Ethan Ampadu and Glen Kamara.

Cree Summerville and Dan James are probably two of the most in-form attackers in the Championship at the moment. Joel Piroe and Georgie Rutter’s relationship is excellent. Leeds are in wonderful form.

But, is it enough to not only be better than Leicester or Ipswich, but to overtake the two teams currently in the automatic slots. Ipswich drew two before the weekend, Leicester have lost the last two games.
