Leeds United loanee Marc Roca has been criticised by the Spanish press for his performance for Real Betis on Sunday.
According to Estadio Deportivo, Roca was far from his best as Betis were held to a 1-1 draw by Cadiz at home, with some of his actions proving a hinderance to his team.
Roca was among eight members of last season’s first team squad to leave Leeds on loan in the summer and had been faring well up until the weekend.
Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Max Wober, Luis Sinisterra, Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson all also made temporary exits from Elland Road after the Whites’ relegation.
With the likes of Kristensen and Aaronson struggling, Roca had been one of, if not the best performing loan player, but looks as though he produced his worst performance of the season on Sunday.

Roca was handed a measly 4/10 for his weekend display, with Estadio Deportivo reporting that he was really off the pace out of possession, causing ‘brawls that did not benefit his team’.
They wrote: “Roca – 4. A bit accelerated, which made him arrive late on occasion or cause brawls that did not benefit his team at 0-0, much less losing. It wasn’t his best afternoon here.”
Roca will be hoping this is just a minor bump in the road following a good start to the season given he has already expressed his desire to move to Betis permanently.
However, Roca’s one and only season at Leeds so far took a similar pattern, starting really well before the games came thick and fast, which caused him to really struggle.
Roca will be playing midweek to weekend regularly over the course of the season with Betis competing in the Europa League, kicking off their campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Rangers on Thursday.
