Mateo Joseph has left Leeds United on loan and joined La Liga side RCD Mallorca on a season-long loan deal.
Mateo Joseph has been in Leeds United limbo since the end of last season. The Spanish under-21 striker started just 11 times in the championship last season, scoring three goals, and going into this summer, it looked as though he was set to leave Leeds United.
And for a while, it looked as though Joseph would leave on a permanent deal. It came after Joseph handed in a transfer request, as transfer interest grew in the Spanish striker who looked set to return to his native Spain.
Last January, Real Betis had a £10million deal rejected for Joseph, and Junior Firpo’s new club had been once again linked with a move for Joseph. Instead, Mallorca have signed Joseph on loan and the striker has since broken his silence on social media.

Mateo Joseph sends message to Leeds United fans after RCD Mallorca loan move is confirmed
Many Leeds United fans have questioned Joseph’s actions this summer. It was reported that Joseph refused to fly out to Germany as part of the pre-season tour. It comes at a time when Daniel Farke’s strike options are very low.
But the Spanish striker has taken to social media after Leeds United confirmed his loan move to Mallorca this morning. Joseph posted a lengthy message on his Instagram story, which read:

The latest on Leeds United’s search for a new striker as Mateo Joseph leaves
For Joseph, Mallorca looks like a good move: a top flight Spanish club who held their own in La Liga last season, though time will tell if he actually gets that much game time next season.
For Farke, the saga is over and he can now push on with figuring out which strikers will be at his disposal next season, with his current options being Joel Piroe, Lukas Nmecha, and Harry Gray.
Recent reports though have suggested that Inter Milan’s Mehdi Taremi could soon be arriving at Elland Road.
Reports coming out of Italy have claimed that Leeds United are close to signing Taremi from Inter in what is understood to be a permanent deal for the Iranian legend.
Elsewhere, another Serie A striker in Artem Dovbyk could also arrive at Thorp Arch before the summer transfer shuts on September 1st.
Leeds United are being increasingly linked with Dovbyk although he’d cost the 49ers around £35million, which is roughly half of what they have left having started the summer transfer window with a £150million transfer budget and having since spent half of that.
