Millwall midfielder George Saville has been speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Leeds United on Sunday.
Both teams head into the match on the back of excellent runs of form with Millwall having picked up 10 points from a possible 12 under new boss Neil Harris. Leeds, meanwhile, have won 12 of 13 league matches in 2024.
It is always a pretty intense rivalry both on and off the pitch when the two clubs play each other, and manager Harris – who has plenty of experience of this fixture – has already spoken about what it means.
The Whites ran out 3-0 winners in the return fixture back in September but this is a much improved Millwall side and they will be looking to come away with a win, just like they did at Leeds’ promotion rivals Southampton last month.
Speaking to Millwall’s media team ahead of the match, midfielder Saville says he is expecting an electric atmosphere at Elland Road due to the ‘huge rivalry’ between the teams.

He said: “It is a special place to go and play. Personally I just think it is a great stadium and great football club and it’s a huge rival. We went there a few years back and won 4-3, it’s just a great place to go and play football.
“The atmosphere will be amazing, our punters will be in there giving it some as well. So let’s just hope we can go and pick up something positive.”
Millwall certainly sound as though they will be up for it and so given the form Leeds have been in, they cannot just to turn up expecting to pick up another three points.
The Lions showed what they can do against top opposition at St. Mary’s and hopefully Daniel Farke will have been drilling that into them this week, amid a nice nine-day break.
Leeds have the chance to move top of the table heading into the international break with a win and that should be enough motivation for Farke’s side to really turn up on Sunday.
