Mateo Joseph has insisted the ‘best is yet to come’ for him at Leeds United ahead of the start of the new season.
Joseph posted the nine-word message onto his Twitter account as the clock counts down on Leeds’ Championship opener against Cardiff City, in what the 19-year-old will be the start of a breakthrough campaign for him.
Joseph has played a fairly prominent role in pre-season under Daniel Farke, appearing in all four of Leeds’ friendlies against Manchester United, Monaco, Nottingham Forest and Hearts.
He has seemingly move ahead of his teammate Sonny Perkins in the pecking order for a first team spot at Leeds, with both enjoying fine first full seasons in the Whites’ U21s last term.
The door may also be open for Joseph to be handed a place in Leeds‘ starting XI on Sunday, with both first-choice striker Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter doubtful due to injury.

There has been signs of real promise from Joseph in some of his first team cameos so far, though he is yet to really show the form that saw him net 16 goals in PL2 last season.
That said, Joseph is clearly determined to make his mark at Leeds and insists he has plenty more to offer and show to supporters.
He said: “We are ready. The best is yet to come!!”
Joseph is a player who can play both off the left-hand side, as well as down the middle, but it is almost certainly the latter where he could receive the majority of his first team opportunities.
Leeds are stacked with players who can play off the left but at present, don’t have a fit, senior recognised striker, which could be the chance he needs.
Farke has already shown he is not afraid to hand young players their opportunity to impress and Joseph will no doubt be eager for that to be on Sunday.
