Leeds United travel the short distance to Hillsborough tonight to take on Sheffield Wednesday in a Championship clash between two in-form sides – and Martin Keown has predicted the winner.

Both sides come into the game having impressed in recent weeks. Leeds have won 10 of 11 league games since the turn of the year – with strength in depth coming in handy for manager Daniel Farke.

Indeed, Farke has won the Manager of the Month awards for both January and February – the latter of which was announced today. The first time since Don Revie in 73-74, to do it twice in two months.

But Wednesday are in good form, too. Their place in the Championship table is misleading, sitting in 23rd place in the division. They, however, are one of four teams on 38 points, winning five of six.

Speaking to TalkSPORT (Friday, 12.10PM), Arsenal legend Keown discussed who would come out of the game victorious on Friday night – and he believes Leeds’ momentum will get them over the line tonight.

“Leeds are playing really good football now. I pretty much think momentum will see them over the line again,” Keown said on TalkSPORT. A win would see Leeds would go above Ipswich for a few hours.

Scoring the first goal in this game will be crucial. It is going to be a difficult, hostile game in which Wednesday – although a side that like to play attractive football – that will make it difficult for Leeds.

The first goal will dictate the rest of the game and it is crucial that Leeds get on the score sheet early, to set the tone. Failure to do so, and Wednesday will grow in confidence as the game goes on. Big game.
