Marc Roca has taken to Twitter with a touching message to Leeds United fans after it was confirmed on Monday morning that the midfielder has left Elland Road to join Real Betis. It is believed a move will include an option to buy.

Roca, 26, is heading back to his home nation of Spain, three years after leaving Espanyol to go to Bayern Munich. But, he managed just 24 outings across two seasons – and Leeds struck to bring him to Elland Road last summer.

Fabrizio Romano says Roca’s loan to Betis will include an option to buy him. Now, Roca has posted on social media – underlining his love for Leeds, and how he will be a supporter from a far – predicting a return to the Premier League.

So, Leeds are now lacking in midfield even more so, than they were before. There is a belief that Tyler Adams will remain at Elland Road, with his hamstring injury actually playing in our favour. Weston McKennie has already gone.

Adam Forshaw is yet to sign a new deal and now, Roca has gone. So, alongside Adams, Leeds have Sam Greenwood – but he is more of a 10. Youngsters Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray are likely to be promoted, but are still unproven.

Lew Bate and Jamie Shackleton havre returned from loans at Oxford and Millwall, but their futures are up in the air despite both playing 45 minutes against Manchester United. Signings are needed, as Roca departs for Betis.
