Leeds United are immediately back in action after Saturday’s frustrating draw against Huddersfield Town, as the Whites play host to Stoke City – and Daniel Farke has confirmed two will be missing.

Leeds saw a run of nine consecutive league games come to and end at Huddersfield on Saturday, as the Whites failed to overcome a physical and robust Huddersfield side – the game ending in a poor 1-1 draw.

It saw Ipswich and Southampton gain ground on Leeds, with Ipswich overtake Leeds into second place in the Championship table. Leeds will be desperate to get back to winning ways come Tuesday night.

But they will have to do so without duo Jaidon Anthony and Jamie Shackleton. Anthony came on as a sub on Saturday. Shackleton was missing. Farke says both are absent for Stoke, on the club’s YouTube.

“Many bruises, many knocks – some dead legs. It is normal, we don’t complain. This is normal at this stage. It is important not to be too soft. We’ll be without Jaidon Anthony due to private reasons.

“Jamie Shackleton who is under the concussion protocol because his symptoms were like a concussion. He’ll miss out on this game and the game against Sheffield Wednesday on the weekend,” Farke added.

Losing Shackleton, although he is an excellent option on the bench, is hardly going to affect the side given his lack of game time in recent months. He’s managed just one league outing since October.

But Anthony is a blow. The winger starred last week in the 3-2 FA Cup defeat to Chelsea, laying on two assists for Mateo Joseph to score a brace. Leeds will need to get back to their best and quickly.
