Livingston manager David Martindale has joked in quotes published by the Record that he has sent Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou‘s CV to Elland Road – amid reports Postecoglou is a target for Leeds United since Jesse Marsch’s sacking.
Postecoglou, 57, has starred at Celtic. Taking over at Parkhead in the summer of 2021 after Rangers had won the title unbeaten, the Aussie gaffer has impressed. He has won 72 of 98, claiming the league last season – and the League Cup.
This season, Celtic are nine points clear of Rangers and in with a shout of achieving the treble. They face their Old Firm rivals in the League Cup final. The Record say Leeds are targeting Postecoglou, among a number of other managers.
Discussing Postecoglou, Martindale joked that he has actually sent the Celtic manager’s CV to Leeds. He says that he has found playing Postecoglou’s Celtic difficult, even if he knows how the Hoops are going to play against his side.
“I kind of know how Ange is going to play as well – I still can’t stop him,” Martindale said. “I actually put his CV into Leeds. I saw Ally McCoist saying he would drive him down. I called him, said I’ll half him for a business class air ticket.”

Leeds have since announced that Michael Skubala will take interim charge over the next couple of weeks – or at least, for the ‘upcoming fixtures’. Presumably, in crucial games against Everton and Southampton. The search continues.
Plenty have commented on Leeds links with Postecoglou. Kris Boyd says he would love to see the “unbelievable” Celtic boss leave for Leeds – for the good of Scottish football. The chances of him leaving Celtic now, though, looks unlikely.
