Leeds United were surprisingly linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur star Ben Davies earlier on in the window and now, Ange Postecoglou has discussed whether there will be any new Spurs exits.

Spurs have been busy in the window this month. They have signed Radu Dragusin and Timo Werner this month, while securing seven senior exits – including Djed Spence, who returned before going to Genoa.

Eric Dier, Ivan Perisic, Japhet Tanganga, Ashley Phillips, Sergio Reguilon and Hugo Lloris have also left Spurs this month. Ben Davies is another that has been linked with an exit, with Leeds interested in him.

Another Welsh player linked with Leeds, given the Whites already boast three of Rob Page’s side. His contract at Spurs is due to expire in 18 months. Whether Leeds make a late move, remains to be seen.

But, during his Tuesday press conference – as per Football London – Postecoglou was asked if Spurs will make any more signings or indeed, let any go. He played down the chances of any more transfer deals.

“Unlikely I’d say. I don’t see any incoming. Outgoings are a little bit different because I’m not as engaged on that. Others are dealing with that but I’d say also unlikely,” Postecoglou said, as per Football London.

It was always unlikely, anyway. While Davies is renowned for being very close with Rodon, the latter is not even permanently at Leeds. Davies is a Premier League star, likely to be on Premier League wages.

The chances of getting him in was always unlikely and at this late stage of the window, it seems almost impossible. Now, Postecoglou’s comments are surely a sign that any chance Leeds had, is now over.
