Leeds United fans will be delighted to hear Lewis Hamilton’s latest prediction as their side prepares to take on Liverpool in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke will be looking for his side to repeat the performance from their recent win over Chelsea, as Leeds bullied the Blues at Elland Road.

The weight of recent history is against Farke’s side, as Mark Viduka scored all four when Leeds secured their most recent home Premier League win against Liverpool 25 years ago.

However, after former Liverpool forward Peter Crouch predicted that Leeds would cause another upset at Elland Road, Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton has also backed the Whites to secure a much-needed win.

Lewis Hamilton backs Leeds United to pull off Liverpool upset

Speaking to the Premier League X (formerly Twitter) account, Hamilton and his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc were asked to predict the outcome of the game at Elland Road.

While Hamilton’s Monegasque teammate backed the Reds to claim a second win in three games, after picking up a win over West Ham and a draw with Sunderland this week, Hamilton was more optimistic about Leeds’ chances.

Tipping Leeds to pick up their second consecutive Premier League victory, Hamilton said: “I’m going to go with Leeds. I think Liverpool are a great team, though.”

Leeds last won consecutive Premier League games in the 2022/23 season under Jesse Marsch, when they beat Liverpool and Bournemouth in two dramatic late victories.

Have Leeds United ever beaten both Liverpool and Chelsea in a Premier League season?

If Leeds can make Hamilton’s prediction come true and pull off a surprise win over Liverpool, they would achieve something they have only ever done twice before in Premier League history.

Not only did Marsch achieve Leeds’ last consecutive Premier League victories, but he is also the last Leeds manager to claim wins over both Liverpool and Chelsea in the same season.

Leeds claimed an early-season win over Chelsea, as Brenden Aaronson scored his first goal for the club, before winning at Anfield in October.

The only other time Leeds managed to win a game against both Chelsea and Liverpool came in the 1994/95 season under legendary manager Howard Wilkinson.

However, Leeds have never won both of their home games against these opponents in the same season, which means Daniel Farke could achieve a piece of history with a win.
