Before the summer transfer window is over, it looks like Leeds United are keen to raid relegated Leicester City for some new signings.
On Friday, Leeds United completed their eighth signing of the summer, when the club announced that Dominic Calvert-Lewin has joined on a free transfer following his release by Everton.
It looks unlikely that the 28-year-old striker will feature against his former club in the Premier League opener on Monday. But for Daniel Farke, his Leeds United summer transfer plans are steadily coming together, but there remain a few gaps in the side that he’s keen to fill.
Particularly, a new number 10 is wanted at Elland Road, potentially along with another full-back who can cover both the left and right positions. Two such names linked are Leicester City attacker Bilal El Khannouss and Leicester City full-back James Justin.

Marti Cifuentes discusses potential Leicester City player sales
Speaking to the press ahead of this weekend, Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes discussed the potential transfer outgoings at the King Power Stadium, and the Spaniard failed to rule out what seems like a mini-exodus brewing within the Leicester City first-team following the Foxes’ relegation from the Premier League last season.
Speaking to Leicestershire Live, Cifuentes said: “It’s the reality of all of the clubs in the country. The players, their mindset is very clear. Everybody wants to play well. When you are a professional, everybody wears this pride.
“We’re trying to build something. Everybody is aware we’re in a transition moment. Hopefully this transition will finish as soon as possible, then we can focus on what is important.
“But at the moment, those are the rules, the market is not closed and it’s a reality for all of us. I have no complaints about the professionalism of everyone, nor their commitment in training and games. We just need to deal with it.”

Leeds United close to signing one of Bilal El Khannouss and James Justin
Right now, a Leeds United move for Justin is looking particularly advanced. We recently revealed at Leeds United News that Justin has told Leeds United he is open to joining the club this summer, and Farke is keen to get a deal across the line sooner rather than later with other clubs monitoring the England defender.
Meanwhile, a deal for El Khannouss looks to be a bit complicated. There is growing transfer interest in the Moroccan international after his impressive season in the Premier League last time round.
The latest club to join the race is West Ham who are set to test the water with a bid for El Khannouss, having missed out on the likes of Mateus Fernandes who looks set to stay at Southampton.
For Leeds United, adding El Khannouss and Justin to the side in what is left of the summer transfer window would cap a strong summer, but when Farke gets a proper look at his new side in the next few games, some new transfer priorities may well emerge.
