Leeds United have made an approach to sign West Brom attacker Brandon Thomas-Asante before today’s deadline – and Carlos Corberan is a huge fan, praising his “goal instinct” and “determination”.
Thomas-Asante, 24, has made a stunning start to the 2023-24 season at West Brom. He has scored three goals in four this term, two of which have come in the league, one against Leeds at Elland Road.
The Mail claim Thomas-Asante – who has only played 39 games for the Baggies since his move to the club in 2022 – that Leeds have made an enquiry. Stoke have seen a £2m bid turned down by West Brom.
Mail reporter Tom Collomosse actually claimed on his Twitter that West Brom want a fee of £5m if they are to sell the striker. So, Leeds could move. Ex-Leeds coach Corberan is a massive fan of his attacker.
“He plays with a lot of energy, determination. He has the instinct of the goal in mind. He’s a big player for us because he helps from a defensive view with his pressing,” Corberan told West Brom’s site in 2022.

He is a good player and an attacker that is scoring goals in the Championship. But do Leeds really need him? We have signed Joel Piroe, Joe Gelhardt remains, Mateo Joseph is fit and Patrick Bamford is close.
We have plenty in the final third. Of course, if Luis Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto do end up going then it might be that the club look at bringing in a new attacker. But if that is the case, surely we can do better?
