Mail Plus claim Leeds United want teen defender Aurele Amenda after he played a crucial role in Swiss side Young Boys winning a fantastic League and Cup double last year – with Max Wober set to join Borussia Monchengladbach.
Wober, 25, is set to go to Germany and join Farke’s old side just six months after his move to Leeds, from Austrian side Salzburg in January. He had been reported as telling Leeds he wanted to stay at Elland Road, as per Leeds Live.
But now, he is set to go – becoming another player to leave us on loan. It is understood that discussions include the potential to involve a permanent fee. But he will need replacing. Amenda is being considered as his replacement.
The teenage star, who already has three Switzerland U21 caps at 19, played 22 of his 26 senior games for the Swiss side last term. He helped Raphael Wicky’s side win the League and the Cup, qualifying for the Champions League.
He has two years left on his contract and his form for Young Boys has clearly caught the eye at Elland Road. The star is a lofty 6ft 4in, and would be an eye-catching signing. If he is ready to go straight away, remains to be seen.

Leeds have already lost a number of defenders. Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch and Diego Llorente have gone. Wober next, and Junior Firpo is likely to continue that list. Leeds need defensive signings in the coming weeks.
Charlie Cresswell, Leo Hjelde and Cody Drameh have all returned from loans and there is a real chance that as things stand, those three could start as three of the four members of the back four. A left-footed centre-back, too.
Wober would have been perfect but Leeds do have cover. Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk are also options. So it is not as if Leeds are lacking that area – but are Cooper or Struijk anywhere near as good as Wober? Absolutely not.
