Leeds United are reportedly looking to raid Manchester United and bring in Brandon Williams to solve out left-back issues this summer – a player that Dan James described as “unbelievable”, praising the defender’s attitude in 2021.
Williams, 22, managed just one outing for Manchester United last season. Injury, and a lack of opportunity under the manager in Erik ten Hag has seen Williams struggle over the past year. His deal at Old Trafford ends in June 2024.
Leeds need a left-back. Junior Firpo is likely to go, and that leaves Leeds with just Leo Hjelde – who is attracting the interest of Serie A side Salernitana. The Independent say that Leeds are interested in signing Williams this summer.
With Williams expected to go and Leeds seemingly focusing on domestic additions, instead of going further abroad – then Williams fits the bill. He is a player that Dan James raved about back in 2021, after Williams made his debut.

“All the boys who have come up this year have done unbelievable,” James told MUTV, as per Manchester Evening News. “Brandon was unbelievable today. He’s great in training every day. Unbelievable attitude. Massive credit.”

Williams and James could end up reuniting on the left flank, then. Luis Sinisterra is preferred on the left but can play on the right and against Hearts, the Wales star played in front of Leo Hjelde. It could be Williams and James reunite.
But that would not be the only reunion. Indeed, Daniel Farke has previously signed Williams during a loan spell while at Norwich in the Premier League. A player he knows well. So, he could be the man to solve out left-back issues.
