Leeds United’s latest stance on selling their marginalised striker Joel Piroe in the January transfer window has now been revealed.
Joel Piroe was at the heart of Leeds’ Championship title-winning campaign last season, as he fired the Whites to promotion.
However, the Dutchman has been an increasingly peripheral figure this season, with Daniel Farke preferring other options in attack.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could become the first Leeds striker to score in five Premier League games since 2003 this weekend, as the Whites take on Crystal Palace, while Piroe is forced to wait for his chance.
Now, the possibility of Leeds selling him in the January transfer window has been explained, as Leeds consider their options in the market.

The likes of Joel Piroe and Willy Gnonto are struggling to force their way into Farke's plans.
Leeds United’s latest stance on the future of Joel Piroe
While Piroe has found his opportunities limited in the Premier League this season, according to The Athletic, Leeds do not plan to sell him in January.
Their report states that Farke believes he will need him in the second half of the season, as the recent injury to Lukas Nmecha highlighted his lack of options up front.
The report explains: “As it stands, Leeds are not going into the winter window with the aim or desire to move Piroe on.
“Yes, he is not featuring much, but this is not a huge squad, and Farke wants to add attackers to his roster, not lose them.

“As Nmecha’s current injury is proving and Calvert-Lewin’s own mixed availability in recent years has shown, having dependable backups is always sensible.
“If offers do come in for Piroe next month, as you would expect, Leeds will still weigh them up, though. Though any deal would need to be right for the player, too.”
Change in Leeds United’s system has offered no relief for Joel Piroe
While Daniel Farke’s system change has breathed new life into Leeds’ season, with the German now favouring a 3-5-2, it has offered little relief to Piroe’s ongoing woes.
Calvert-Lewin is currently in the second-best scoring streak of his career, and Farke has preferred to partner him with either Nmecha or Noah Okafor, depending on the former’s fitness.
Leeds win and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scores – change my mind 👊
Fifth goal in a row, incoming
According to FotMob, Piroe has featured for just seven minutes in Leeds’ last four games, the majority of which have been played with two strikers leading the line.
Although Farke may be reluctant to sell Piroe as things stand, if Leeds do bring in a striker, having been linked to Ireland’s hero Troy Parrott, that situation could still change.
