Leeds United secured eight summer signings in the most-recent window as Daniel Farke was forced to conduct a mini-overhaul of his Elland Road squad, with others leaving.

Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter, Glen Kamara and Charlie Cresswell were all sold. They were joined by Jaidon Anthony and Connor Roberts leaving after their loan spells came to an end.

Players also left on free transfers and it forced Farke to make a number of signings. Eight new additions, plus the returns of loanees Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober, and the addition of Josuha Guilavogui.

Leeds look well-stocked if injuries are not aplenty. Largie Ramazani, Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev are still on the sidelines, but if one position is in need of strengthening, then it will be in the no.10 position.

Leeds wanted Emi Buendia in the summer, he’s struggling to play

A £40m signing at Aston Villa from Norwich, Emi Buendia was a target for Leeds in the summer according to Angus Kinnear. But a move did not materialise, Kinnear saying Buendia rejected a move to Elland Road.

Buendia is fit again after a long spell out injured. But this season, Buendia has managed just 20 minutes of Premier League football, spread across four late substitute appearances for Aston Villa under Unai Emery.

Could Leeds reignite move for Emi Buendia in January?

Graham Smyth expects Leeds to move for a no.10 in January. Aaronson has been good without starring for Leeds, scoring four goals in 16, Jon Newsome saying Aaronson is just keeping his head above water.

Buendia is struggling for game time even if his minutes are slightly better in Cup competitions. In the winter window, Buendia will be tempted by a move and whether Leeds go back in remains to be seen.

Of course, Buendia worked under boss Farke at Norwich and if he is to drop out of the Premier League, then Leeds are the only viable club capable of luring Buendia away from England’s top tier. A chance.
