Leeds United are now 11 matches into the season and Daniel Farke now finally appears to have a really settled squad of players. Here, we have provided our ratings for each and every player so far this season.
Illan Meslier – 7
Has looked a lot more confident this season under Farke, with his shot-stopping back at the level it once was. Could still be more decisive with distribution and command of area.
Karl Darlow – 5
Darlow has only featured in the cup games so far but his display against Salford City, particularly in the shootout, means he can’t score above a five.
Luke Ayling – 5
Ayling has really struggled so far this season and his reduced number of minutes in the last few weeks, despite the fact Djed Spence is out injured, is reflective of that.
Djed Spence – n/a
Impossible to give him a rating considering he has played just 10 minutes so far this season. He will add so much to this team, though.
Joe Rodon – 8
Rodon has looked a really signing so far at the back, playing a key role in Leeds’ recent run of clean sheets. Would’ve been a nine but for his red card at Hull City, although it was harsh.
Charlie Cresswell – 5
Has not played much at all since his involvement in the opening two matches and for that reason, can’t score above a five.
Pascal Struijk – 9
One of Leeds’ best players so far this season, Struijk looks as though he is really thriving again under Farke, playing his natural position.
Liam Cooper – 6
A big goal against Cardiff and strong display in the win over Watford is marred by a poor afternoon at Southampton. Still a very strong backup to Rodon and Struijk.
Sam Byram – 9
As he continues to get fitter and fitter, Byram’s performances just get better and better. Won’t find much a much better value signing than him all summer.
Leo Hjelde – 4
Had high hopes for him after his pre-season performances but has just not managed to replicate that form in competitive games, which has seen him drop considerably low in Farke’s pecking order.
Jamie Shackleton – 7
Has already played about four different positions but has looked solid whenever he has played. Will be a decent squad option this season.
Ethan Ampadu – 9
Leeds’ player of the season so far as he just seems to control every game he plays. Would’ve been a 10 but for his dip in standards at Southampton.
Archie Gray – 8
Started all but two of Leeds’ matches across all competitions has looked excellent in almost all of them. Even performed a brilliant job at right-back last week.
Glen Kamara – 7
Solid against Watford, decent in an otherwise abject team display at Southampton, and excellent in the win over Bristol City. This rating will rise the more game time he gets.
Ilia Gruev – n/a
Impossible to justify giving him a rating considering how little he has played.
Darko Gyabi – 4
His only real chance came from the start against Shrewsbury where he really failed to show what he can do, before being hooked at half-time. Now back in the U23s.
Crysencio Summerville – 8
Is getting better and better the more he plays, making him a joy to watch at this level. His tally of two goals and two assists should be higher, though, which prevents him from getting a nine.
Wilfried Gnonto – 6
Still not back at the level he was at times in the Premier League last season but a frustrating injury at Hull stopped all his momentum. Can’t wait to see him at full flow.
Ian Poveda – 5
Started the season really well but has seen game time drop off significantly, and with that, his impact in matches off the bench.
Dan James – 7
Four assists already and his first goal of the season last weekend against Bristol City. Still frustrating, but his impact cannot be denied.
Jaidon Anthony – 7
Has looked dangerous in all of his cameos off the bench, and his goal against Watford was brilliantly taken. Also excellent in his first and only start against QPR. Needs more game time.
Joe Gelhardt – 4
An unused sub in each of the last five matches after failing to take his chances earlier in the season. Needs a loan, or a completely fresh start elsewhere.
Joel Piroe – 8
He may go missing at times in matches but his goal record speaks for itself. Five in eight already. Exactly the player Leeds needed in front of goal.
Georginio Rutter – 9
A joy to watch when he is at the top of his game, which at the moment is pretty much every week. Championship defences just can’t handle him. Would’ve been a 10 but for some of the guilt-edge chances he has missed.
Patrick Bamford – 5
Farke is just easing him back into full fitness following a hamstring injury. Three appearances off the bench so far. An excellent cameo in the win over QPR was followed by a really poor one against Bristol City.
