Leeds United Net Spend summer transfer window 2023/24

Friday’s 11pm deadline brought an end to a hectic transfer window for Leeds United.

It has been all change for the Whites right from the moment they were relegated at the end of May, with a host of changes to the ownership, management and playing squad.

The first port of call for Leeds this summer was for San Francisco 49ers Enterprises to agree a new price on a full buyout with Andrea Radrizzani, which was finally given EFL approval at the beginning of July.

The appointment of two-time Championship winner Daniel Farke then followed swiftly after, with Leeds finally putting their foot on the gas in terms of incomings in the month of August.

Leeds appeared reluctant to press on with signings until they knew who would be staying after relegation, with a host of last season’s first team squad having left on loan.

So, with that in mind, here is a look at Leeds’ total net spend for this summer’s window. Note that only a selection of loan fees, in and out, are public knowledge, and that all fees are excluding add-ons.

NET SPEND: £2.7 million

To have a net spend of just £2.7 million, Leeds can be happy with the window they have had, with a vast amount of quality having been brought in for this level.

While the loan exits have been an obvious cause of frustration, at the same time, Leeds will be saving plenty of cash on wages, which will also leave them in a much healthier state financially.

Signings such as Ampadu, Piroe, Rodon and Spence are all real statements of intent for this division, while the likes of Kamara and Byram will also supplement the squad well.

That said, it is a real frustration that Leeds were unable to keep hold of Luis Sinisterra, who frustratingly left on loan for Bournemouth in the closing stages of the window.
