It could end up being a historic season for Daniel Farke’s Leeds United as the German can write his name in Whites folklore.

Just a week ago there were shouts of Farke’s future looking uncertain at the club, but that has now completely changed.

Leeds’ win over Preston has put Leeds in a phenomenal position as the gap between Sheffield United is now five points.

This team could become one of the great sides, especially if the majority of this squad performs in the Premier League this season.

Farke has proven this, as a Don Revie record is now under major threat.

Daniel Farke chasing Don Revie record at Leeds United

It’s astonishing to see the change in atmosphere around the club.

After an incredible start at Elland Road, it was once again a nervy ending, but Leeds holding on showed they want to make sure they’re promoted.

This has proven the mentality in Farke’s squad, having come back from some brutal claims as Leeds fans said Farke was on the ‘final straw’.

However, the statistic that has emerged should show that Farke deserves praise.

Following on from Jayden Bogle’s winner, Leeds have now scored 82 goals in a single league season for the first time since 1969/70 under Don Revie, where 84 goals found the net.

With this, Farke looks set to break the famous Revie’s feat.

Leeds achieving 100 goals isn’t completely out of the water yet

It’s very, very ambitious, but Leeds could still reach the 100-goal mark in this Championship season.

Despite needing 18 goals from four games, you never know with this Leeds side.

A 7-0 win at home to Cardiff City not long ago proves that, and playing relegation-threatened Oxford United and Stoke City could prove to help this achievement come to fruition, but Farke has to make sure his side are on it.

Paul Heckingbottom says Leeds are in control and that should be the main focus, but this might be in the back of Farke’s mind.
