Pascal Struijk has garnered plenty of Premier League interest after his stalwart performances for Leeds United.

Leeds United will be hoping to retain the majority of their playing squad this January as they need plenty of options going into a crucial point of the season.

Daniel Farke is taking a relatively young approach in January but that is not to say he will be looking for alternatives for more experienced players.

Someone who meets the middle ground in both youth and experience is Struijk who has been a valuable asset to Leeds since breaking through to the first-team five seasons ago.

Struijk has received Premier League interest from Tottenham but that’s not to say he will be leaving Elland Road in January.

Graeme Bailey says Leeds United have a plan for Pascal Struijk

Like any well-drilled club, they will have a plan for their key players and that’s exactly what Leeds plan to do.

Struijk suffered an ankle injury before Leeds’ 3-3 draw at Hull City, but Farke hopes to have Struijk after the FA Cup and will hope to have him at the club full stop.

There may be no need to stress for the Leeds boss as transfer expert Graeme Bailey has been speaking exclusively to Leeds United News with an update regarding Struijk’s situation at Leeds.

“I’m told there’s quite a bit of Premier League interest in him, in this window. But I’m told Leeds are standing firm and they have no desire to lose him this month. It’s no surprise, he’s playing really well.

“The plan for Leeds is to thrash out a new contract if and when they’re promoted. I think they’d like to do it now, but they understand that Struijk will want to see if they’re promoted.

“But it is no surprise that Leeds have received two or three enquiries from Premier League clubs for him.”

Struijk could be a vital asset for Leeds in the Premier League

If Leeds were to gain promotion this season then Struijk should be a key component Farke builds around.

The 25-year-old led the club as captain whilst Ethan Ampadu had his fitness struggles during October and November, and it comes as no surprise why Farke selected him in Ampadu’s absence.

If Leeds do plan on keeping the Dutchman around, they’ll have to make it clear he is integral to Leeds’ future moving forward.

Farke has given his plaudits to Struijk as the two have a great bond that could feature in the Premier League.
