Of the major exits at Leeds United in the summer, Georginio Rutter has performed the best. The French ace is impressing for Brighton, while Crysencio Summerville had struggle to make an impact.
Rutter has formed an impressive partnership up top with Danny Welbeck and has had a hand in four goals in his last four Premier League games. Scoring two and creating two for Brighton since his move.
Archie Gray is making early strides at Tottenham as a £40m prospect, starting games in Europe and the Carabao Cup. But the England U21 man is still yet to make a start in the Premier League for Tottenham.
Glen Kamara, Charlie Cresswell, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca and Kris Klaesson also left Leeds permanently in the summer, as did Crysencio Summerville. The Dutchman has had an indifferent West Ham start.

Leeds fans love what Crysencio Summerville did on Sunday
Having won the Championship’s Player of the Year tournament last summer, Summerville joined West Ham for an initial £25m. Summerville’s move could also see Leeds rake in another £9m from add-ons.
The 22-year-old had only been afforded just one Premier League start ahead of Sunday’s clash against Manchester United. He was a sub again, but he came on to score the first in West Ham’s huge 2-1 win.
Leeds fans were watching on, and were delighted Summerville had opened his account against rivals Manchester United. One fan wrote: “Summerville scoring against manure, things you love to see.”
Another said that it was “refreshing to see” Summerville score for the Hammers against Manchester United, a result that is only going to pile the pressure on Old Trafford manager Erik ten Hag.
One supporter wrote, “could Summerville be the man to get ten Hag sacked?”
Others simply wrote in delight: “What a way to get your first goal”, and “Scoring against them is a bonus”. Hopefully for Summerville and West Ham, the winger’s goal is the first of many.
Crysencio Summerville’s stats during win against Man United
Summerville will be hoping that he now gets a run in the West Ham side under Julen Lopetegui, with two winnable games to play before the international break. Nottingham Forest and Jack Harrison’s Everton.
Summerville’s stats against Manchester United:
- 0.53XG (third-highest player on Sunday)
- One shot on target, three successful dribbles
- 15/17 passes completed, three into penalty area
- 6/8 duels won
Perhaps, after a difficult start to the season for West Ham as a whole, maybe Summerville can be the man to provide the turning point for the Hammers and push them back into contention for European football.
