It’s matchday for Leeds United once again as Daniel Farke’s side take on Nottingham Forest at The City Ground, and Farke has picked his side to take on Sean Dyche’s men.
Leeds come into the game after three defeats in the last four games, and four defeats in five away from home in the Premier League. Forest, however, sit below Leeds in the relegation zone at the moment.
Forest have endured a dismal start to the season, and while Dyche has restored a bit of calm at the City Ground, Forest have only won once in his four games. They are currently winless in their last three.
Indeed, Forest played in Austria on Thursday night in the Europa League, failing to beat Sturm Graz even though Dyche’s men had a penalty, which Morgan Gibbs-White missed. Now, Leeds hope for a result.
Perhaps, Farke more so. Reports this week say Farke has five games to save his job, with the tough run against Villa, Chelsea, City, and Liverpool after the break, striking fear into those of a Leeds persuasion.

Daniel Farke makes two changes to Leeds’ starting line-up
Dominic Calvert-Lewin was deemed a late call by Farke earlier this week, but the Leeds gaffer has chosen to drop Calvert-Lewin to the bench in his starting line-up. Lukas Nmecha starts his second Leeds game.
One change made by Farke is Anton Stach in midfield, who has come in for Ao Tanaka. Stach had been removed by Farke due to a rib and finger injury, but is back in after Tanaka’s struggling performances.
However, the one thing that has angered Leeds supporters on social media is that Willy Gnonto has failed to make the bench for a second game, despite the Italian being in training for the last two weeks.
One Leeds supporter joked that Gnonto would be back in time for the “2026-27 Championship season”. Another made the point that “Gnonto trained with the team for two weeks and can’t get in the team”.
Farke’s future is in doubt, but another fan said that his line-up suggests he “wants the sack” with the Italy winger missing. One posted: “No Gnonto again? I thought Farke said he was fit. Clearly not the case.”
“No Gnonto is a disgrace”, said another Leeds fan. For the former Zurich and Inter attacker to not even make the bench is alarming and begs the question, if he is fit, why is Farke overlooking the Leeds winger?
Brenden Aaronson remains in the starting line-up, while doubts regarding Jaka Bijol have fallen on deaf ears with the Slovenian preferred alongside Joe Rodon to Pascal Struijk for a third league game in a row.
Leeds’ XI to face Forest: Lucas Perri; Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson; Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach, Sean Longstaff; Brenden Aaronson, Lukas Nmecha, Noah Okafor.
