Leeds United fans are very excited and ‘moved’ after noticing something about Anton Stach

German international midfielder Anton Stach has emerged as a midfield option Leeds United are actively pursuing this summer.

Leeds United are keen on the TSG 1899 Hoffenheim midfielder and could look to sign Anton Stach after the Habib Diarra deal failed to materialise and with Noah Sadiki and Sean Longstaff also on their radar.

Leeds United News suggested Stach should be a target as he fits the club’s remit of physically imposing players, given Stach’s build and profile at 6’4″.

Graham Smyth then explained that Leeds are indeed in the mix for Stach’s services, while we also exclusively revealed Leeds’ advantage in the Premier League race for Stach this summer.

Stach will cost Leeds a fee in the region of £13 – £17 million and he is a name that has got fans excited already, with the giant defensive-minded midfielder now someone the Whites faithful hope to sign.

Not only that, but they have noticed where Leeds are clearly trying to win more points next year, given the need to dominate set-pieces in both boxes.

Another stated: “Gone years being dwarf FC, never scoring at set pieces, always conceding at set pieces, now we’re creating a literal basketball team. We’re a proper set piece taker away from being a cheat code at corners. This is not the Leeds United I was born into.”

Another Leeds fan added: “This would be a great signing if we can it done. Tall, versatile, good age & proven in a high level. Bring. #LUFC”

Another simply remarked on the strategy of each signing being 6’1″ or taller thus far, adding: “Land of the giants!!!”

The problem is, Leeds still need a set-piece taker following Joe Rothwell’s loan ending. There are very few players — if any — in the squad who are capable of consistent and quality delivery from those situations.

Bilal El Khannouss could get the most out of Leeds’ team of giants

Leeds need a speciality No.10 but also a playmaker with a genuinely strong range of passing via both open-play chance creation and set-pieces.

Losing Rothwell’s skill-set leaves them short of it and Bilal El Khannouss of Leicester City could be perfect for Leeds. He can dribble and carry the ball to transition Leeds from defence to attack quickly.

However, most importantly of all, El Khannouss can deliver dangerous balls into the box from a range of different angles to help pick out new signings like Stach, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol and Lukas Nmecha.

But also Joe Rodon, Pascal Struijk and the other taller aerial threats Leeds are sure to bring in before August’s transfer deadline. The centre-forward, for example, is likely to be proficient to some degree in this area.

The Whites have to make the most of marginal gains, knowing they may not be able to compete technically with most of the league but more than match them up physically.
