Leeds United fans are all saying the same thing about the FA after what just happened with Junior Firpo

Leeds United fans have blasted the EFL’s decision to hand Junior Firpo an immediate three-match ban.

Firpo has been handed the suspension following an alleged incident at full-time of Leeds’ 1-0 defeat at Millwall on Wednesday night involving Danny McNamara.

The Leeds left-back is said to have been spotted ‘headbutting’ McNamara in the 95th minute, an incident that wasn’t spotted by officials, which is why they have been able to punish retrospectively.

The incident was caught on video and despite Firpo denying the charge, the FA have deemed there to be enough evidence to impose the suspension.

Firpo is now set to miss Leeds’ next three matches, starting today against Queens Park Rangers, and continuing after the international break at Swansea City, and then at home to Luton Town.

Leeds fans blast ‘corrupt’ FA decision on Firpo

It is not often these sort of charges are dealt with so swiftly and for a verdict to arrive just six hours before Leeds take to the field, fans have been left furious.

One supporter has blasted the FA for coming to the decision on the morning of a game, suggesting the Football League is both ’embarrassing’ and ‘corrupt’.

Another said: “If a sending off offence in a live game is unseen by poor referees and assists on all future matches, are you going to retrospectively start handing out three match bans? No you won’t and yes… no consistency. Shameful.”

One Leeds supporter was considerably more straight the point with his views, simply writing: “Of course you have – corrupt.”

Another said: “On the day of a game you lot are shameless.”

Farke to address Firpo incident post-match

Farke was less than happy with the referee during Leeds’ defeat at Millwall on Wednesday and so this latest decision will have left him fuming.

The Leeds boss was frustrated at how many soft free-kicks the home side were being awarded, as well as the decision to only add on four minutes in the second half.

Farke will get the opportunity to speak on Firpo’s suspension after today’s match and so it will be interesting to see what route he goes down when discussing it.
