Luke Humphries came from 4-2 down to beat teen Luke Littler in the final of the PDC World Darts Championship on Wednesday – and Leeds United duo Luke Ayling and Stuart Dallas have reacted.
Littler has stole the hearts of the nation and put the microscope back on darts, after reaching the final at the tender age of just 16. The Manchester United fan, came up against Leeds supporter Humphries.
The latter already won 2023’s World Grand Prix, the Players Championship Finals and the Grand Slam of Darts. Winning the semi-final of the World Darts Championship, Humphries became the world’s no.1.
He took on Littler in what was one of the most hotly-anticipated Darts finals for years – and after six sets, Humphries found himself struggling as teen sensation Littler continued to stun fans, on the oche.
But, Humphries showed all why he is the best in the world by winning five sets in a row to be crowned the PDC World Darts Championship champion – to win 7-4 at Ally Pally. An emotional win for Humphries.

Especially, as the Leeds-mad star has never won the competition. But, it is another ticked off the list after a stunning 12 months. Not only that, but Humphries is said to be pocketing a massive £2.5m fee.
His win was watched by many on social media, not least by Leeds stars Ayling and Dallas. The duo were among those pictured with the Darts star when Humphries recently visited the squad at Thorp Arch.
Both Leeds stars posted on their Instagram stories. Ayling said: “Go on fella! Congratulations mate.” Dallas also took to social media, commenting: “Incredible darts. Congratulations. Best on the planet.”
