Robbie Evans has already claimed that Leeds United have maxed out their position on Profit & Sustainability Rules, having spent north of £100m during the summer window.
A total of 10 new signings were made, improving pretty much every position available. Had Leeds pulled off deals for Harry Wilson or Facundo Buonanotte at the end of the window, PSR action was needed.
It meant Leeds would have to sell a player before June 30, or work out a bit of manoeuvring financially to obey the rules. But as it stands, Leeds will get the green light next year when PSR take a look at things.
Stay in the Premier League, and Leeds can spend more. That makes things harder for young players coming through, but the advantage of young talent bursting onto the scene means Leeds save cash.

Daniel Farke says one Leeds player can save ‘some transfer fee’
This week, U21 captain Alfie Cresswell signed a new three-year deal. Speaking after penning a contract until June 2028, Charlie’s younger brother Alfie publicly said he wants more first-team training time.
Speaking to reporters during a press conference, Farke said that Cresswell can save Leeds some money in the future. He thinks Cresswell can prevent Leeds making a signing, though he is yet to make his debut.

“Congratulations to Alfie, he’s not a regular member of our group, but here and there we have him with us. Brilliant lad, brilliant character, flexible in many positions – full-back, defensive midfield, centre-back.
“We got the feeling there is more to come, that’s why we have extended his contract. We believe in our young talents. We have to create value, or save ourselves some transfer fee. Let’s see how he develops.”
Which other youngsters could Daniel Farke call on?
The obvious one is Harry Gray. Already, 17-year-old Gray has an impressive seven goals for the U21 side this season, after Gray scored a hat-trick against Scunthorpe’s senior side in the National League Cup.
He’s not the only one, however. Rory Mahady is impressive in goal, while new signings Jayden Lienou and Louis Enohoro-Marcus have made a solid start after joining the club from Liverpool and Manchester City.
Rhys Chadwick was involved in first-team proceedings during pre-season, having had a hand in 26 goals and assists last season. But for Cresswell to captain the U21 side at just 18, is particularly eye-catching.
