Mateusz Klich described Ethan Ampadu as Leeds United’s “man of the match” for his performance on top of one of three open-top buses on Monday, as he lead his team through the city centre.
Armed with a microphone, Ethan Ampadu was clearly celebrating hard as The Whites gave a glimpse of the Championship trophy to more than 150,000 fans on Monday following Saturday’s win at Plymouth.
A stunning display of white, yellow and blue engulfed the city centre with Ampadu front and centre. The Leeds skipper orchestrated songs and committed a few faux pas as Leeds made their way to Elland Road.
Indeed, Ampadu hinted Junior Firpo is off to Betis, before requesting “two more years” for Sam Byram. Ampadu has also been forced to deny mocking Burnley after signing Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’.

Ben Parker heaps praise on Ethan Ampadu after Leeds bus parade
But only 24 hours after the bus parade, Ampadu was back on captaincy duty as the Leeds skipper was present at the Academy Player of the Year awards on Tuesday night – handing out Player of the Season.

Charlie Cresswell’s younger brother Alfie won the award for his performances in the U21 side. Ampadu, alongside Alex Cairns, handed the teenage midfielder his award – and Ben Parker praised the skipper.
Parker, who was presenting the awards, said: “24hrs later and our captain is at the Academy Player of the Year Awards, alongside legend Alex Cairns and Alfie Cresswell. Just highlights how United this club is.”
The party is not going to stop for Leeds United’s players
With the parade done, Leeds United’s players will not stop partying. Not only have the playing staff earned a 50-60% pay rise thanks to promotion, but the squad will now jet off to Las Vegas as a reward.
The 49ers are said to have put on a trip to Vegas to congratulate the players following promotion back to the Premier League. Meanwhile, the club’s decision-makers will now spring into action this summer.
A crucial window in which Adam Underwood has been made sporting director for the first time. Thrown in at the deep end, Underwood will now oversee one of the club’s most-important summers, ever.
