A striker is probably the last position Leeds United needed to strengthen in the January window but that’s not stopped Kieffer Moore being linked with a move to Elland Road – and Joe Rodon is a fan.
Standing at a lofty 6ft 5in, it is quite obvious what 31-year-old Moore brings to a team. His ability in the air, and that he can dictate two central defenders, makes him a seriously effective no.9 at this level.
Indeed, he has played 155 times in the Championship – having a hand in 61 goals. Scoring 47, he has laid on 14 assists. But with Moore up top, it also brings the best out of his attacking teammates behind him.
The likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, Dan James and other Welsh attacking players will testify to that having playing with Moore for Wales. Reports say Leeds are interested in landing the £40k-a-week star.
Speaking in 2021 and quoted by Wales Online, Rodon was full of praise for target man Moore. He said it is difficult to play against the Bournemouth star given his physicality – but also, with the ball at his feet.
“He’s a great lad, we’ve got a bunch of great lads. You’ve seen out there he’s a problem, he brings that physical presence. Great to have in the team. I don’t enjoy that [marking him in training] to be honest.
“He’s a big lad and he brings a physical presence but people get surprised what he brings with his feet as well. We’re just delighted to have him here as an impact player for the team,” Rodon said, on Moore.

The Welsh connection is growing with every window. In the summer, James was joined by Rodon and Ethan Ampadu. Neco Williams was a target in the last window. David Brooks linked with a loan addition.
There is a Welsh Mafia appearing at Elland Road – like the one that occurred at Tottenham when Rodon was joined by Gareth Bale and Ben Davies. Moore is a good singing, but Leeds don’t need a striker.
